【语法点拨】表示时间的状语从句（上）
▶ 时间状语从句常用的引导词
before在……之前 after在……之后
by the time截至 till/until直到……
since自……以来 each time/every time每次
when/while/as当……的时候 no sooner…than…一……就……
the moment立刻，马上 once一旦……就……
as soon as一……就…… whenever/no matter when 无论何时
▪ before引导的时间状语从句
before的意思是“在……之前”，常用来引导时间状语从句。
▶ 句型：It is/was (not) +时间+before+从句
It will (not) be +时间+ before+从句
• It was one year before he finished his work.
过了一年他才完成他的任务。
• It was not long before he finished his work.
过了不久，他就完成了他的工作。
• It will be three weeks before he finishes his work
要过3周，他才能完成他的工作。
• It won’t be long before he finishes his work.
用不了多久，他就会完成他的工作。
▪ by the time引导的时间状语从句
by the time的意思是“截至……(时间)”，可以引导时间状语从句。by the
time引导的从句若是一般现在时，主句要用将来完成时；若是一般过去
时，主句则要用过去完成时。
▶ By the time you receive this letter, I will have left this city for my
hometown.
你收到这封信时,我将已经离开这座城市回家乡了。
▶ I shall have finished it by the time you come back.
你回来以前我就把它做完了。
▶ By the time you got there, the bus had already left.

▪ once引导的时间状语从句
once作连词引导时间状语从句时，意思是“一旦……就……。

▶ once引导状语从句时，若从句的主语和主句的主语一致，有时可以
将从句的主语和be动词省略。

Avatar
《阿凡达》
Avatar is an American epic science fiction premiered in 2009. It broke several box
office records and became the highest-grossing film of all time, as well as in the
United States and Canada, surpassing Titanic which was also directed by James
Cameron.
《阿凡达》是2009年上映的一部美国史诗级别的科幻电影，在美国和加拿大打
破几项票房纪录，成为有史以来票房收入最高的电影，超越了同样由詹姆斯·卡
梅隆执导的电影《泰坦尼克号》。
By 2154, natural resources are scarce on Earth. The Resources Development
Administration mines on Pandora, whose atmosphere is poisonous to humans. The
Na’vi, 10-foot tall, blue-skinned humanoids inhabit there. To explore pandora’s
biosphere, scientists use Na’vi-human hybrids called “avatars”, operated by
genetically matched humans. Against this background, Jake Sully (starred by Sam
Worthington), paraplegic former marine, is found by RDA to replace his brother to
finish the mission to research on Navi’s ways in order to relocate them.

During one mission, he is rescued by Neytiri, the daughter of the clan’s spiritual
leader. He gets to know more about Pandora. It is contradictory for him to decide
which side he should fight for. Finally, under the leadership of Jake, the clan unites
together to battle against the RDA. After that, with the exception of Jake, Max, Norm
and a few other scientists, all humans are expelled from Pandora and sent back to
Earth and Jake is transferred permanently into his avatar. Avatar is primarily an
action-adventure journey of self-discovery, in the context of imperialism and deep
ecology.
