▪ 以be 为中 心成 分: be about to, be bound to, be going to, be sure to, be

certain to,be (un)likely to, be to等。

• He is unwilling to help me with my English.

• We were about to start when it rained.

▪ 以have为中心成分:have to, have got to, had better等。

• The boy has to make living by barbecuing.

• I don’t have to buy a new house.

• You’d better stay at hospital for another few days.

▪ 以seem to为中心成分:appear to, come to, fail to, get to, happen to, seem to,

tend to, turn out to

• He seems to be very disappointed.

• Danger seems to attend everything they have tried.

为两类:一类是可以作上述转换的,其中包括 be certain to, be(un)likely

to, appear to, happen to, seem to等。

• They are certain to win the game.

→ It is certain that they will win the game.

• He is likely to let you down.

→It is likely that he will let you down.

• He appeared to have taste for music.

→It appeared that he had a taste for music.

▪ 另一类半助动词不可以作上述转换,这一类包括be about to, be bound to,

be going to, be to, had better, have to, have got to, tend to等。

• He is about to arrive.

• He is bound to win.

• The boy tended to be late.

• There is going to be storm.

• There is sure to be some rain tonight.

• There is likely to be a large audience.

• There is certain to be trouble at the factory.

• There appears to be no doubt about it.

▪ 如果“It…that+ there存在句”的主句谓语动词是 is said, is believed等被

• It is said that there’s trouble at the factory.

→ There is said to be trouble at the factory.

不过,这里的 is said to(be)已经不是半助动词了。
