【对话场景】描述物体的位置
Mrs. Smith’s kitchen is small.
史密斯太太的厨房很小。
There is a refrigerator in the kitchen.

• on the left/right 的用法
◦ 位于左边/右边
◦ left 和 right 在这里是名词左边/右边的意思
◦ 要加定冠词 the，因为位置的描述有参照物
◦ 后面可以加介词 of，表示······的左边
▪ She is on the left of the team.她站在队伍的左边。
◦ left 和 right 还可以作形容词，左边的/右边的
▪ left hand 左手 right hand 右手
• there be sth. in/on...的用法
◦ there be 结构表示存在、有
◦ 后面加地点表示在某个空间中有某物
▪ there is a book on the desk 桌子上有本书
◦ 单数名词用 there is...，复数名词用 there are...
▪ be 动词的形态取决于就近的名词为单数或复数
▫ There is a book and some magazines on the desk.
桌子上有一本书，还有一些杂志

【语法点拨】表示空间的介词
表示静态位置的介词有：at, in, on, over, above, under, below
表示动态方向的介词有：from, to, up, down, through, across
• at, on 和 in 在·····/在······上面/在······里面
◦ at 用于表示一个较小的场合，这个地点被当作一个点来看待
▪ She arrived at the airport.她已经到达机场了。
◦ on 表示在某一平面或线上，强调与某物体有接触
▪ The book is on the desk.书在桌子上。
◦ in 表示在较大的地方，在某立体空间或平面范围之内
▪ He planted some flowers in the garden.他在花园里种了一些花。
• about 和 around 在······周围/附近
◦ about 强调无方向
▪ We walked about in the town.我们在城里到处闲逛。
• over 和 above 在······上方
◦ over 表示正上方，而且两物体表面没有接触
▪ There is a bridge over the river.河上有座桥。
◦ above 强调在上方，但不一定是正上方，也不强调没有接触
▪ The birds are flying above the clouds.鸟儿在云朵上飞翔。
• under 和 below 在······下方
◦ under 表示正下方，可以接触也可以不接触
▪ There is a cat under the table.桌子底下有只猫。
◦ below 强调位置低于某参照物，但不一定是正下方
